Police arrested three people at dawn today to facilitate investigations into an ongoing case of disturbing the peace, causing concern, possession of offensive instruments and assaulting police officers.
Specifically, around 1am today, information was received about a fight on a street in Ayia Napa. A police patrol on foot immediately went to the scene. Upon the arrival of police officers at the scene, three unknown persons were identified, who according to information obtained, were previously involved in the fight. The three strangers were in possession of empty glass bottles and were heading to a nearby nightclub.
The members of the Police approached the three strangers and asked them for their details, but they ran away. The police followed them and managed to intercept them nearby. Then the three attacked the policemen, as a result of which they were immobilized by the members of the Police and arrested for flagrant offenses.
It was found that two 23-year-olds and a 19-year-old were detained to facilitate interrogations.
Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating the case.
