The organized fans of APOEL did so in the north stand of the "Alphamega Stadium" stadium during yesterday's derby between Apollon and the blue and yellow of Nicosia.
With the first light of day, the recording and repair of the damage caused by the brainless began. The stadium contractor went to the stadium and counted the damage. These exceed €40,000. The northern horseshoe will remain closed for the next few races, as it will take days to repair the damage.
It should be noted that during police checks, before the start of the match, a backpack with 53 smoke canisters and 9 flares was found hidden in the toilet area, in the stands of Apollon, hidden in the false ceiling.
Besides, a 10-year-old Apollon fan was attacked by 19 APOEL fans who was leaving the stadium with his vehicle at around 21.15. He was attacked and hit in the face, but was saved by other APOEL supporters who intervened, with the attackers fleeing. The 19-year-old was taken to a private clinic in Limassol, where he was found to have an upper and lower jaw tooth injury. He was given first aid and subsequently discharged.
The game was assessed as high risk and despite the fact that more than 230 police officers were recruited, the brainless hooligans of both teams managed to take charge, even for a short time.
The atmosphere was electrifying from days before, with various provocative posts by organized fans parading on social media.
Investigations into the incidents continue by the investigation team set up at the ICF of Limassol. In the hands of the examiners of the case is CCTV footage of the stadium, which is being studied in an attempt to identify the fans who dismantled and destroyed more than 300 seats, damaged the latrines of the north stand, spray-painted on the walls and smashed the stadium's security cameras.
He expressed his dissatisfaction with what took place inside the stadium to "F" an executive of the "Alphamega Stadium", stressing that the 1,300 fans of the away team entered the stadium with a fan card and ticket.
