Cruises from Haifa, which will start next month and continue until the beginning of winter, will give a significant economic injection to the city of Larnaka this year. The contractor has concluded an agreement for 30 cruises with three ships from Israel, which will carry about 30,20 passengers. Cruises from Haifa had stopped during the pandemic period and resumed last year, when thousands of passengers arrived in the city from Israel. The cruise ships will make a long stop in Larnaca and their passengers will be able to disembark and visit the city.
This year, the tourist prospects of Larnaka port have been upgraded due to the agreement concluded with Scandro Holding Ltd for the maritime connection between Cyprus and Greece. From Larnaka there will be the last eight itineraries to Piraeus that will start at the end of July. Work is already underway at the port to better serve passengers, which is expected to be completed in a few weeks.
Recently, Kition Ocean Ports, as mentioned to "F", the director of the port, Paris Demetriou has joined the group of the MedCruise association, whose mission is to promote cruises in the Mediterranean.
