PAPHOS - EXPLOSIVE DEVICE OUTSIDE PHARMACY

 Filenews 29 April 2023

An explosive device was placed and exploded at dawn today outside a pharmacy on Agapinoros Street in Paphos. It was found to be a low-power improvised device and the police have already carried out intensive investigations to identify the perpetrators.

According to the spokesman of the Pafos Police Headquarters, Michalis Nicolaou, the explosion took place at 4.00 am outside the entrance of the pharmacy, owned by a 34-year-old Greek Cypriot woman. The explosion, he said, caused damage to both the exterior and interior of the pharmacy.

A team of the Pafos ICF arrived at the scene, said Mr. Nicolaou, who found that the explosion was due to the detonation of an improvised cylindrical explosive device of low power. Various documents were received for scientific examinations, while closed-circuit surveillance systems are also being examined by businesses in the area.

Investigations are ongoing.
