MILIOU - APPROVAL FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A BREWERY

The green light was given by the environmental authority for the construction and operation of a microbrewery and snack bars in the community of Miliou, in the district of Paphos. According to the information report, the proposed project includes the following:

- Snack bar, with a total area of 155 sq.m., which includes: a room with 104 seats, 6 toilets and outdoor areas (terrace) of approximately 218 m2.

- Microbrewery, with a total area of 70 sq.m., which includes: brewing area, fermentation area, bottling area and watertight wastewater storage tank.

- Other spaces / auxiliary spaces, with an area of 52 sq.m.

- Parking spaces - 22 (total), of which 5 for people with disabilities, with an area of 470 sq.m.

The total area of the plot is approximately 21,106 sq.m., while the total area of the project is estimated at 400 sq.m.

Specifically, the ground floor area, which will house the snack bar and the beer production area, will occupy approximately 277 sq.m., of the total area. The remaining 123 sq.m., approximately, form the mezzanine, which will cover part of the ground floor space.

Beer production will take place 2-3 times a week, for 50 weeks a year. The annual beer production is expected to be 25,000 - 50,000 lt (500 - 1000 lt / week). Part of the production will be consumed at the snack bar and the rest will be distributed locally. For the production of beer, the raw materials to be used are malt (malted barley), hops, yeast and water.

The total cost of the brewery, which will be adjacent to Ayioi Anargyroi Spa Resort, is estimated to exceed €300,000.
