Elections are expected to be held in the communities of Kritou Tera and Neo Chorio following the collective resignations of community leaders and members of community councils.
Both communities have disapproved and rejected their membership in the municipality of Polis Chrysochous which, based on the reform of local government, as voted by the Parliament, will consist of the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous and the communities of Agia Marina Chrysochous, Androlykos, Argaka, Gialia, Drouseia, Kritou Terra, Makountas, Neo Chorio, Nea Dimmata, Pelathousa, Pomos, Tera and Chrisoxous.
The Ministry of Interior is gearing up to hold elections for the election of new community leaders and new community councils in the two communities by May 2024, when elections will be held for the election of new local authorities.
