The Pafos Police arrested two persons for conspiracy to commit a felony, conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor, facilitation of illegal passage to a third-country national and impersonation.
At Paphos airport, a 41-year-old Congolese woman with Cypriot citizenship presented herself in order to depart on a flight to France. She was accompanied by a young person aged 16 who held a passport with a Greek Cypriot name and whom the woman presented as her 16-year-old son. During passport control, it was found that the passport in question was genuine, but the face of the young man did not resemble the photograph bearing the passport and there was also an age difference.
Under questioning, the young man admitted that it was not the real evidence he presented, that he came from an African country and that he was aged 28 and not 16. The two persons were arrested and detained to facilitate interrogations.

Two identical shop burglaries and theft of money from them are being investigated by the Police in Paphos. The perpetrators, who are assumed to be the same in both cases, drove the vehicle to the windows of shops, a pharmacy and a kiosk, took the cash register of each store and left, and then burned the vehicle to eliminate any evidence.
According to the spokesman of the Pafos Police Headquarters, Michalis Nicolaou, at 2:30 in the morning a 38-year-old pharmacy owner in the Anavargos district received a message on his mobile phone that the alarm system sounded at the pharmacy. He went to the pharmacy and found that it had been burglarized and immediately alerted the police. Members of the Pafos ICF went to the scene and CCTV found that a vehicle of a specific description at reverse speed hit the glass entrance of the pharmacy, resulting in access for the alleged perpetrators.
From the vehicle got off the co-driver, who stole from the pharmacy the cash register as well as a sum of money of €500 that were elsewhere in the pharmacy.
Twenty minutes later, the same thing happened at a kiosk located in Chloraka. The same car shattered the glass case of the kiosk, the passenger got off and stole the cash register which contained the amount of 200 euros.
A few minutes after 3.00 in the morning a message was given that a car was on fire in the area of Seven St George in Geroskipou. Members of the Police went to the scene where it was found that a vehicle, whose description resembles the one used in the burglaries, was burning. The fire completely destroyed the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle has been searched, but has not been located so far. The persons involved face the offenses of conspiracy to commit a felony, burglary and causing fire to a vehicle.
The examinations are continued by the ICF Pafos.

The Famagusta District Court today imposed an 18-month prison sentence on a 19-year-old man, whom it found guilty in a case of illegal entry into the Republic, aiding third-country nationals to illegally enter the Republic of Cyprus with the intention and purpose of making a profit and transporting persons by water in an unsafe and overloaded vessel.
The 19-year-old had been arrested on February 19, 2023, after the arrival of a boat, in the sea area of Famagusta, with 20 migrants on board.
Police examinations had secured testimony according to which the 19-year-old was the operator of the boat.
The case had been investigated by the Famagusta ICF.

Paphos Police arrested a person who attempted to enter the Paphos casino while intoxicated.
According to the Spokesperson of the Pafos Police Authority and Head of the Pafos ICF, Michalis Nicolaou, on 25.4.23 at 14:25, information was given to the Police that at the Pafos Casino on Poseidonos Avenue, a person who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, insisted on entering the area despite the instructions of the guards there that he was not allowed to enter due to his condition, ie that he was drunk.
Members of the Pafos Police went to the scene and it was found that this was a person who was drunk, refused to leave, caused concern and insulted the members of the Pafos Police Authority with various phrases.
