The creation of the Akamas Regional Information Centre for Birds and Terrestrial Flora in Kathikas was completed through the Pafos District Administration.
According to the District Officer of Pafos, Mary Lambrou, the completion of the project, with a total expenditure of €299.998,00 plus VAT (€356.997,62) was done with state funds with researchers Loucaides – Filippou.
The contractor for the building part is CSG Neokleous Brothers and the contractor for exhibits / equipment is The Camassa touch Ltd with a contract amount of €247,700+VAT
In statements to CNA, Lambrou said that the project includes information areas with signs and other configurations as well as exhibit areas for the bird fauna and terrestrial flora and habitats of Akamas, reception / office / shop, auxiliary spaces, sanitary and kitchen areas.
All areas (indoor and outdoor), she continued, will be accessible for people with disabilities, especially the areas of the exhibits, the facilities of which offer comfortable viewing and approach. The area of the building amounts to 210sq.m.
It is, said Mrs. Lambrou, the old building of the SPE that was granted for a long time to the Community Council of Kathikas.
