A police officer serving in the Paphos traffic police and who was off duty, shopping at a supermarket in Geroskipou, was called by officials to assist in the arrest of an African who had stolen various products.
The African fled, got out of the store but the policeman chased him about 200 metres away until he finally immobilized him and handed him over to colleagues who had rushed to the area.
