MEETING OF THE DEPUTY MINISTER OF TOURISM WITH PAPHOS TOURISM OPERATORS


Yesterday, March 13, 2023, a meeting was held between the Board of ETAP Paphos and the Deputy Minister Tourism within the framework of his tour to get to know the agencies and the issues that occupy the tourism Paphos.

The meeting was attended by almost all the members of the Board of Directors of ETAP Paphos, the Mayors of Paphos, and Geroskipou, Presidents of Community Councils, the Presidents of EBE and PA.SY.XE Paphos, representative of STEK and representatives of other organizations.

The president of the company Mr. Kyriakos Drousiotis welcomed the Deputy Minister Mr. Costas Koumis to Paphos and wished him success in the difficult task he undertook.

In a spirit of mutual understanding, the Deputy Minister of Tourism received information on a multitude of issues that concern tourism operators. Among other things, issues of visibility and penetration were discussed in new markets and development of existing ones, operation and management of beaches, legislative regulations that are in progress or need to be done as well as issues that the Deputy Ministry does not have immediate involvement and which the Paphos agencies are asking for more active involvement.

Regarding the marina project in Paphos, ETAP's position was strong, stressing that it should be done and to show determination also through the coordinating role of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism to avoid past mistakes.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism also informed ETAP's Board of Directors about the various matters issues interventions and efforts that the Deputy Ministry has in progress or is expected to promote in the following period, while he made special mention of the remarkable project that ETAP implements every year.

At the same time, he confirmed the strengthening of cooperation between the Deputy Ministry and ETAP and upgrading the role of ETAPs in general.

ETAP and the Deputy Minister of Tourism agreed to organize a second meeting in the coming days and weeks to consider other important issue
