The Clerical and Labor Staff of the Municipality of Paphos descends into a 24-hour Warning Strike on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 protesting against the unilateral decisions of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Paphos that violate the Collective Labor Agreement as well as Legislation.
The decision on the dynamic reaction was taken at a General Assembly of Personnel held on March 22, 2023 and was unanimous.
Specifically, the reasons that prompted the staff to make this decision are the continuous violations of articles of the Collective Labor Agreement as well as Legislation concerning:
· Staff sick leave. Non-payment of full remuneration in accordance with Article 9.1, Article 12, K.D.P. 101/95 – article 87 and the Salary Protection Law of 2022.
· Welfare-Recreation Fund. Non-payment of the amount due and creation of Operating Regulations in accordance with the decision of the Department of Labour Relations of the Ministry of Labour dated 14/12/2021.
· Traffic Police Service Hours. Article 5.2 and the Organisation of Working Time Law of 2002.
· Renewal of Collective Agreement.
The employees of the Municipality express their strong disappointment for the unjustified delay of the Department of Labor Relations to take a position on the Mediation Meeting on 13/12/2022.
The staff of the Municipality of Paphos and the Trade Unions representing it express their sympathy to the citizens for any problems that will be created by the strike but they had no choice.
