NEW SIGNAGE FOR IMPORTANT ITEMS OF NATURE IN THE REGION

 


ETAP Paphos: "Clever" the Tremithos of Simos is also transformed into a monument of Nature

Now the static inadequate information signs are replaced with smart, friendly ones

The Paphos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company continuing its efforts upgrading the tourist experience and implementing actions that contribute to its transformation district of Paphos in a smart destination (SMART destination) expands the digitization of information and the installation of smart signs now and to highlight century-old trees.

The district of Paphos has several centuries-old trees in various communities and as a first pilot application the Tremithos of Simos, a 1000-year-old natural monument, has been selected in collaboration with the Forestry Department.

Through the effort to highlight these monuments of nature it includes among others sufficient information on various topics related to the forest, trees and nature.

Static, inadequate information signs are now being replaced with smart, user-friendly environment, distinctive and interactive signs. The user/visitor after initially scanning the QR code can choose from his smart device the language of his choice, while his a wide range of information options is offered. In this particular case, information for Tremithos, for the protection of forests, the advantages that trees offer to man and in nature, the life cycle of trees, etc., as well as rich photographic material, video, 360 tour etc.

ETAP Paphos has just recently completed the production of material andin the next few days the third phase will be completed involving installation of 18 such signs in various areas and points of interest in the district of Pafos such as in Chloraka, Kissonerga, Pegeia, Laonas villages, Peristerona, Steni, Lysos, Amargeti, Stato-Agios Fotios and others

ETAP Pafos warmly thanks the Department of Forestry for the support since the texts and material it has prepared for the promotion of Tremithos was done under the supervision and guidance of the Department of Forestry.

In the coming weeks, the preparation of the fourth phase of creating smart signs will begin, which

it is expected to include another 20 or so points of interest across the province.
