Another modern and functional green space, which was designed by the Municipality of Paphos and executed by the Pouroulis Foundation with a generous sponsorship of more than €500,000 of the Loukas Pouroulis family, a prominent figure of the Greeks abroad, in memory of his wife Artemis and his daughter Salome, was delivered today to our city.
The fully renovated building of the Municipal Art Gallery was also inaugurated.
Their inauguration ceremony was held this morning by the Mayor of Paphos Mr. Phedonas Phedonos and Mr. Adonis Pouroulis and Mr. Fivos Pouroulis.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Mayor of Paphos thanked Loukas Pouroulis and his family for the generous sponsorship and noted, among other things, that this renovated park, equipped and upgraded, meets all the requirements to become a reference point for the city, a model green and recreational space, which young and old will be able to enjoy with comfort and safety.
The program of the ceremony included Sanctification by the Metropolitan Bishop of Pafos, speech by the Mayor of Paphos Mr. Phaedon Phaedon, greeting by Mr. Adonis Pouroulis on behalf of the Loukas Pouroulis family, presentation of the work by the scholar - architect Mr. Renos Markou, artistic program with songs of yesterday and today by Efthyvoulos Theocharous (piano) and interpretation by Annita Constantinou, songs by the Choir of the Second Primary School of Pafos under the direction of Mrs. Elena Papatherapontos - Konstantinou, unveiling of commemorative plaques and an open reception.
