A meeting under the Minister of Justice and Public Order will take place today, after the incidents that occurred on Sunday afternoon, both inside and outside the Tasos Papadopoulos - Eleftheria stadium.
As the Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letympiotis told state television, the meeting will examine measures and suggestions to address violence in stadiums.
He also stressed that it is unacceptable in 2023 to observe phenomena such as those that occurred yesterday. What is important from today's meeting is the action plan that will be drawn up to see how this pathogenesis can be tackled at its root. It is unacceptable, he said, for sport to endanger human lives, for members of the security forces to be injured.
In addition, Mr. Letympiotis mentioned that measures and suggestions will be examined and announcements are expected after the meeting.
"The Minister of Justice is expected to inform the President of the Republic of the decisions that will be taken and to complete this effort that has begun and there may have been mistakes and omissions," he said.

A police officer who was on a bus of Apollo fans yesterday was suspended, according to a decision taken this morning at a police meeting.
In fact, according to reports, this is a policeman, who is in the guard of a minister.
It is reminded that an extraordinary meeting on the incidents during the basketball match between the teams APOLLON – ANORTHOSIS at the "Tassos Papadopoulos" stadium in Nicosia, was held this morning. Two arrests were made in connection with the incidents.
According to the Police, from the incidents, three prefabricated buildings of the CPT bus company were completely destroyed due to a fire that was maliciously set after throwing Molotov cocktails. Extensive damage was also caused to five police vehicles and civilian vehicles parked on the stadium site. Members of the Police were attacked with the use of flares, Molotov cocktails, stones and other objects, resulting in the injury of three police officers, who after receiving first aid, were discharged.
Members of the Fire Brigade extinguished the fires caused by the use of Molotov cocktails, flares and smoke generators. Members of the Police stopped for control two buses carrying fans of the APOLLONAS team. Biometric data were obtained from the passengers of the two buses with their written consent to receive scientific examinations.
During the searches of the two buses, a number of documents were received and a quantity of dry cannabis plant matter weighing 4 grams was found. A 27-year-old man's body found a half-smoked cigarette containing cannabis, resulting in him being arrested for an offence. After being charged in writing, he was released.
As part of the examinations, testimony was also obtained against a 27-year-old man in connection with the incidents, who was arrested on the basis of a court warrant and taken into custody.
