The new ministerial formation, chaired by Nikos Christodoulides, held its first meeting this morning.
According to information, at the first meeting of the new Council of Ministers, it was determined which Ministers replace which Ministers in their absence, while the PD asked the Ministers to prepare for the meetings of the Council of Ministers, because, as he told them, he wants them to express positions on all the issues of the agenda and not only on those concerning their Ministries / Deputy Ministries.
Nikos Christodoulides asked for the implementation of his Governance Program, while he asked the members of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs Council to present their priorities in the coming days.
The PD also asked the Ministers not only to take decisions but also to implement them, while, as he said, there will be under the Deputy Minister to the President supervision and a mechanism for monitoring the implementation and coordination of the government's work.
The Ministers and Deputy Ministers were also asked to present a program and action plan, each on policy issues, to the Council of Ministers but also to cooperate to a maximum extent with the House of Representatives, with the Presidents and members of the Parliamentary Committees, as well as with all the relevant social partners who have to do with the various actions of their Ministries.
At the same time, he asked the members of the HS to start preparing for the presidency of the Republic of Cyprus in the EU in 2026 and explained that they should participate in the EU Councils of Ministers and develop links with all relevant EU institutions and bodies, mainly with the Commission.
