The arrest of a 28-year-old man was carried out yesterday by members of the Police and specifically members of the Anti-Narcotics Service – YKAN, after the detection of more than 100 pills of the type "Ecstasy" and a quantity of cannabis plant matter over 30 grams, in the residence and farmhouse of the 28-year-old, in the Famagusta district.

In a statement, the Communication Branch of the Police says that "shortly after 2.00 yesterday noon, members of the YKAN conducted a search operation, at the residence of the 28-year-old suspect, as well as at his farmhouse, in the Famagusta district, pursuant to a court warrant".

It is reported that "105 ecstasy-type pills were found in the farmhouse, as well as three sachets containing brown solid cannabis resin substance, totalling about 2.5 grams".t is noted that "in the residence of the 28-year-old, a quantity of cannabis plant matter with a total weight of about 32 grams, and cannabis resin weighing about one gram were found, while in the courtyard of the residence were found a bag of white powder believed to be cocaine, weighing about one gram and a metal grinder containing traces of cannabis plant matter".

The 28-year-old was arrested by YKAN members and taken into custody for the purpose of investigating a case of possession of drugs for the purpose of supplying another person.

The case is being investigated by the Provincial Unit of YKAN in Famagusta.

They tied her up, put a knife to her throat, threw liquid in her face and robbed her. Scenes from a gangster movie were actually experienced by a foreign domestic worker in Polis Chrysochous, by two masked men who broke into the house where she works for the purpose of robbery.

The complaint was made to the Police by the 82-year-old owner of the house, in whose service the victim of the attack is located. As he reported, last Friday two strangers entered through an open window of the auxiliary residence of the house, wearing hoods and threatened his domestic helper asking for money.

She replied that she had no cash with her, so the two robbers took a kitchen knife by putting it on her neck, while they also threw caustic liquid in her face, causing her to lose consciousness. According to the subsequent examinations of the Police, the two perpetrators took from the woman's bag an amount of €60 and left the scene.

The Police who were alerted by the 82-year-old, when he realized what had happened, arrived at the scene and found the domestic worker tied up, gagged and in a state of shock. The unfortunate worker was taken to Polis Chrysochous Hospital where doctors found redness on the wrists of the hands and ankle joints and received the necessary care.

Investigations to identify the robbers continue.

The arrest of three persons was carried out yesterday by members of the Police in the district of Paphos, in relation to investigated cases of burglary of a building, theft, and illegal possession of property. The three suspects, men aged 33, 38, and 46, were taken into custody for the purpose of police examinations.

Specifically, last Thursday afternoon, it was reported to the ICF Paphos, that in the evening between Wednesday and Thursday, 01-02 March, two bicycles, worth a total of €450, were stolen from an apartment building in Paphos, after a burglary of the building. The examinations carried out by the members of the ICF revealed evidence against the 33-year-old suspect, against whom a judicial arrest warrant was issued, for the purpose of investigating the case.

At around 5.00 yesterday afternoon, the 33-year-old was spotted by members of the Paphos ICF, in an apartment where he allegedly lives with the 46-year-old suspect, while the 38-year-old suspect was also located in the apartment. After the members of the ICF proceeded to arrest the 33-year-old, with the court warrant issued against him, they conducted a search of the apartment, where they located four bicycles. For the possession of the bicycles, the three suspects did not give satisfactory explanations, as a result of which the members of the Police proceeded to arrest them, for the self-inflicted offense of illegal possession of property, since it is being investigated whether all four bicycles are stolen.

Two of the four bicycles found are believed to be the bicycles whose theft was reported to the Paphos ICF.
