Six people were spotted by the Paphos Police engaging in illegal gambling at a premises in the Chrysochous apartment, as part of a campaign to crack down on illegalities carried out on Saturday night. Two of them were even found to have financial debts from previous warrants against them, which they had to pay in order to be released.

As stated by the Police Director of Paphos, Nikos Tsapis, the checks of the members of the force were carried out in various premises in the area of Polis Chrysochous, as a result of which in one of them the six people were found to be engaged in gambling.

From the research carried out at the site, playing cards, a sum of money and plastic chips were received as evidence. The six persons were charged in writing and will be summoned later.

The Police arrested a 63-year-old person yesterday, as part of an investigation into a case involving stabbing to incite terror and cause injury.

At around 4.45 yesterday afternoon, information was received to the Police about four injured persons in the Morphou area. Members of the Police went to a specific house, where inside the courtyard, they located the suspect, who was in possession of two knives, as well as the four injured.

The 63-year-old was arrested for an offence, while the injured were taken by ambulance to Kyperounta Hospital, where they were found to have lacerated wounds and after receiving medical treatment, they were dismissed.

The Evrychou Police Station continues the examinations.

A Bulgarian wanted for burglaries in Limassol was arrested at the Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias barricade.

The Bulgarian attempted to cross into the areas not controlled by the republic apparently in order to escape abroad.

His name was on the persons who were forbidden to leave the country, he was located, arrested and has been handed over to the ICF Limassol.
