The Police proceeded yesterday to locate and seize a quantity of 16 kg and 800 grams.

The quantity of drugs was found after an inspection by the Anti-Narcotics Service, in cooperation with a Customs Officer, in the luggage of a 33-year-old woman, who arrived yesterday afternoon at Larnaca airport.

After checking the 33-year-old's luggage, 13 nylon packages containing cannabis plant matter, weighing 16 kg and 800 grams, were found.

The 33-year-old was arrested for the offences of illegally importing drugs, illegally possessing drugs and possessing drugs with intent to supply other persons.

The YKAN (Larnaca Unit) continues the examinations.

The Paphos Police arrested a 28-year-old person for an ongoing case of church theft and illegal possession of property.

According to the Police Director of Paphos, Nikos Tsapis, following information given to the Police, a 28-year-old person was found in the area of Exo Vrysi, near the chapel of Agios Georgios, within the municipal area of Paphos, in whose possession, after an investigation, property was found for which he could not give adequate explanations on how he secured it.

Specifically, according to Mr. Tsapis, in the possession of the 28-year-old was found an electronic device (tablet), a speaker and a portable device for charging electronic devices. The suspect was also in possession of a knife and in addition to the charges of theft and illegal possession of property is also charged with stabbing. Interrogated, the suspect admitted to the ICF investigators that on two different dates he broke into the church and stole money from the bench. The 28-year-old was arrested and taken into custody
