VACCINATION SCHEDULE

 The current schedule of vaccinations against the coronavirus was announced by the Ministry of Health, as part of efforts to strengthen the immunity of the population and prevent the disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS–CoV-2 virus.

According to an announcement by the Ministry, a booster dose with the updated twin vaccine of mRNA technology, Comirnaty Original / Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 of Pfizer technology, is recommended in people aged 12 years and older, provided that the period of three (3) months has elapsed since the last dose of the primary vaccination or the booster of the monovalent vaccine.

Updated twin mRNA vaccines that include subvariates BA.4 and BA.5 of the Omicron variant of Moderna in people aged 12 years and older are also available for a booster dose at vaccination centres, provided that the period of five (5) months has elapsed since the last dose of the original vaccine was received.

In addition, the Ministry states that it is recommended to use Pfizer's updated, twin-potent vaccines of mRNA technology, Comirnaty Original/Omicron BA.4 and BA.5as a booster dose in people aged 5 to 11 years, for active immunisation. This vaccine is only indicated for people who have previously received at least one primary cycle of vaccination against COVID -19, provided that the period of three months has elapsed since the last dose was received.

It is also recommended to use the monovalent vaccine of mRNA technology, Pfizer's Comirnaty as an initial vaccination, in children aged 6 months to 4 years for the original strain of the virus.

It is noted that beneficiaries will be able to be served through the walk-in vaccination centres operating in all provinces. Vaccination with a booster dose of vaccine is recommended after 3 months from the 1st positive test against the disease COVID-19.

It is clarified that the receipt of a booster dose of a vaccine against the disease COVID-19 is optional.

The Ministry underlines that the initial vaccines for COVID-19 continues to provide protection against severe disease, hospitalization and death and is used for primary vaccinations. ThePfizer vaccine and the single-dose modified virus vaccine Johnson Johnson are available at the vaccination centres.

Vaccinations with vaccines Pfizer/BioNTech (BA.4 – BA.5) are carried out from Monday to Friday, between 8:30-14:30, in Nicosia (State Fair: 22574320), Larnaca (Old Hospital: 246423852481804624818047), Limassol (Linopetra Health Center25804101), Paphos (Paphos General Hospital: 2680324626803370) and in Famagusta (Famagusta Health Centre: 23200063). They are also held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 08:30-14:30, at the Kyperounta Vaccination Centre (former SPE: 25813200) and Tuesday, 09:30-13:30, at the Polis Chrysochous Hospital (26821825, 26821817).

Vaccinations with vaccines Moderna (B A.4 – BA.5) are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 08:30-14:30, in Nicosia (State Fair: 22574320), Larnaca (Old Hospital: 246423852481804624818047), Limassol (Linopetra Health Centre: 25804101), Paphos (Paphos General Hospital: 2680324626803370) and Famagusta (Famagusta Health Centre: 23200063). The Kyperounta Vaccination Centre (former SPE: 25813200) and the Polis Chrysochous Hospital (26821825, 26821817) are carried out by telephone appointment.

Also, vaccinations with vaccines Johnson &Johnson take place on Fridays, between 08:30-14:30, in Nicosia (State Fair: 22574320), Larnaca (Old Hospital: 246423852481804624818047), Limassol (Linopetra Health Centre: 25804101), Paphos (Paphos General Hospital: 2680324626803370) and Famagusta (Famagusta Health Centre: 23200063). At the Kyperounta Vaccination Centre (former SEA: 25813200) and the Polis Chrysochous Hospital (26821825, 26821817) are carried out by telephone appointment.

It is noted that in order to carry out vaccination, an identification document (identity card or passport) and a vaccination card must be presented. For the primary vaccination against COVID-19 of persons under the age of 18, the consent form signed by both parents (Greek or English) must be presented together with proof of identification (identity card or birth certificate).

For better planning of vaccinations for people under the age of 12, those interested should make an appointment in Nicosia (Latsia Health Centre: 22849153), Limassol (Limassol Old Hospital: 25829031), Kyperounta (Kyperounta Vaccination Centre: 25813200), Larnaca (Larnaca Old Hospital: 2481804), Famagusta (Famagusta Health Centre, 23200063) and Paphos (Paphos General Hospital: 268033702680324), on Wednesdays, 08:30-14:00. They can also make an appointment at Polis Chrysochous Hospital (26821825, 26821817), on Tuesdays, between 09:30-13:30.
