According to the Police, at this time, the roads of Platres – Troodos, Karvounas – Troodos, Prodromos – Troodos, Papoutsas – Alonas are closed due to heavy snowfall.
Roads open only to vehicles with snow chains or four-wheel drive:

Yellow warning in effect
A new yellow warning for rain and strong thunderstorms was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Service.
According to the announcement, a combination of rain and isolated heavy thunderstorms is expected to affect the region. The total rainfall locally can exceed 55 mm per twelve hours.
The warning takes effect from 7 a.m. today until midnight.
Detailed weather report
Today Wednesday the weather will be mostly cloudy with rain and isolated thunderstorms, initially mainly in western and southern areas and gradually in the rest of the island. In the higher mountains it is expected to snow intermittently, while snow or sleet may also fall in mountainous areas with lower altitude.
The winds will initially blow mainly west to northwest and locally variable, weak and transient locally to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, to become from noon mainly northwest to north, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and transient on the windward coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be up to turbulent, gradually becoming on the west and north coasts until undulating. The temperature will rise to around 12 degrees inland, around 14 degrees on the south and east coasts, around 15 on the rest of the coast and around 2 degrees on the higher mountains. In the highlands and locally in the leeward semi-mountainous areas frost will form.
Tonight the weather will initially be mostly cloudy and local rains or isolated thunderstorms are expected, as well as snow in the higher mountains, but also in mountainous areas with lower altitude. Gradually the weather will noticeably improve. The winds will blow west to northwest and locally to north, moderate, 4 Beaufort and windward to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, but transient to west and north coast to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort. The sea will be undulating on the west and north coasts and until turbulent on the rest of the coast. The temperature will drop to around 3 degrees inland, around 5 degrees on the south and east coasts, around 10 on the west and north coasts and around minus 2 degrees on the higher mountains. In the mountains and locally in the leeward semi-mountainous areas, frost is expected to form.
On Thursday the weather will be mostly clear. On Friday the weather will initially be partly cloudy with isolated rains, but after noon it will become mostly cloudy and local rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected, as well as snow in the higher mountains. Saturday is initially expected to see isolated rain and snow in the highlands, but gradually the weather will become mostly clear.
The temperature will gradually rise until Friday, to hover near or even slightly above the average climatic values for the season. A slight drop is expected on Saturday.
The height of the snow on Troodos Square, at the time of issue of the bulletin, was 4 cm.
