UPDATE -
The situation on the road network of the mountainous areas, which was affected by the morning snowfall and frost, is improved.
Only vehicles fitted with snow chains or four-wheel drive remain the roads:
- Pedoulas – Prodromou
- Pedoulas – Pinewood – Kakopetrias
The rest of the roads are open to all vehicles, however they remain slippery and drivers are urged to be especially careful
Due to snowfall and frost, several roads in the mountainous areas are affected, according to the Police.
The roads of Platres – Troodos and Farmakas – Odos are closed, while the following roads are open only for vehicles equipped with anti-skid chains or with four-wheel drive:
- Karvounas – Troodos
- Prodromou – Troodos
- Pedoulas – Prodromou
- Pedoulas – Pinewood – Kakopetrias
- Prodromou – Lemythou
- Kakopetrias – Karvounas
- Kykkou – Pedoulas
- Kykkou – Stavros Psokas
- Kakopetrias – Caves
- Prodromou – Platres
- Pedoula – Moutoulla
- Kampou – Tsakistras
- Kykkou – Falcons
- Kampou – Kato Pyrgos
Also slippery and dangerous are the roads:
- Palaichori – Agros
- Palaichori – Aska – Fterikoudiou
- Fterikoudiou – Alonas
- Alonas – Platanistasa
- True – Livadia
- Alonas – Polystypos
- Polystypos – Chandrias
- Polystypos – Lagoudera
- Fikardou – Gouriou
- Gouriou – Lazania – Machaira
- Statou – Agios Fotios – Panagias
In the remaining areas and especially on the main roads, there is no problem that seriously affects traffic. In some areas, however, work may affect the smooth movement of vehicles.
The Police recommends caution to those who will be trafficked on the road network. They are also required to observe the highway code and traffic signs, to avoid road collisions.
