Within the framework of the actions and actions of the European program ERASMUS, the Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Pafos Region attended the third scheduled meeting of the partners of the U-Mar project that took place in Cádiz, Spain.
The partners had the opportunity to exchange views and discuss the final stages for the creation of the educational platform for maritime archaeology. This project aims to enhance underwater archaeology to become an innovative tool for the development of sustainable and creative tourism.
At the same time, international best practices are expected to emerge and the promotion and stimulation of underwater archaeological sites through responsible and sustainable approaches.
Partners other than Cyprus come from Spain, Italy, Portugal and Croatia.
The Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company anticipates that in the coming years Maritime Archaeology can be another important element in the diversification of Pafos as a tourist destination. There are several points of underwater archaeological interest in the province that can be explored, developed and further promoted, the company's officials emphasize.
