Sixty heavy vehicles of ready-mix concrete companies, based in Paphos, are located outside the Presidential Palace.
The quarrymen of the Pafos district as well as the concrete companies served by the quarrymen are protesting against the apparent publication of the Akamas local plan, which will not, it seems, include a new quarry zone in Androlikou.
Their position is that the outgoing cabinet should not proceed with the publication of the plan in order to allow the new cabinet to revisit the issue.
Quarrymen claim that quarrying materials have been exhausted and are forced to import some of them, mainly boulders, from abroad, skyrocketing costs.
