Problems in the road network are caused by prolonged rains and snow in Troodos.
According to an announcement, heavy snowfall occurred in Troodos. Roads are open only for vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with anti-skid sentient chains
Caution is advised to drivers of vehicles moving on the Limassol-Paphos highway, since in areas of Paphos and Limassol, there are heavy rains, resulting in the flow and accumulation of water at various points on the motorway, making the road surface dangerously slippery. Due to the rains, visibility is dangerously limited, while strong prevailing winds also affect traffic and vehicle traffic on the Limassol-Paphos highway.
In Troodos, due to the rain and snowfall that occur around 9.15 in the morning, the roads are slippery. Particularly slippery due to snowfall is the Kakopetria-Troodos road, while on the Platres-Troodos road, and on the adjacent road network, due to fog, visibility for drivers is limited.
Rainfall is also noted in the areas of Machairas and Palaichori, but there are no particular problems in the road network.
In Paphos, the streets of Kelokedara-Salamiou and Arminos-Filousa, where landslides of a volume of soil and stones had occurred at dawn today, have been cleaned by crews of the local authorities.
According to an announcement by the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, landslides of a volume of soil and stones occurred in the district of Paphos, in places on the streets of Kelokedara-Salamiou and Arminos-Filousa.
The Police recommends to the drivers of the vehicles special attention, since due to the rains that occurred last night, the road surface may be slippery in places where there is water accumulation.
In addition, the Police recommends caution to those who will be moving on the road network, who are required to observe the road traffic code and traffic signs, to avoid road collisions.
