A two-month imprisonment, as well as the deprivation of a driver's license, was imposed today, by the Larnaca District Court, on a 29-year-old resident of Nicosia, who had been found driving under the influence of drugs.
According to the facts of the case, on the morning of May 1, 2022, members of the Road Accident Prevention Unit, of the Traffic Headquarters, stopped the car, driven by the 29-year-old, for inspection on the Larnaca - Nicosia highway. The driver tested positive for a drug test, which he underwent, as a result of which he was charged in writing and summoned before a Court.
Today the 29-year-old appeared before the Larnaca District Court, which after examining the case imposed a sentence of immediate imprisonment, lasting two months. The Court also ordered the 29-year-old to be deprived of a driver's licence for two months, which will be valid from the day of his release, as well as five penalty points.
