ETAP WELCOMES THE CREATION OF A MUSEUM FOR THE APOSTLE PAUL IN KATO PAPHOS
The Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region welcomes his decision Municipality of Paphos for the creation of a Museum for the Apostle Paul at Panagia Chrysopolitissa in K. Paphos. This decision comes to strengthen the efforts of ETAP Paphos, which has submitted a relevant file to the Council of Europe for certification of the route and also has invested in technology to highlight both St. Paul's column and Panagia Chrysopolitissa.
As is known, the application for certification of the route by the Council of Europe prepared by the Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region, the Region of Central Macedonia, the city of Lazio in Italy and the European Network of Cultural Tourism (ECTN) has recently been evaluated and received some comments which partners review to complete and resubmit for certification 2024.
Highlighting the relationship of the Apostle Paul with Paphos is extremely important since it is one of the cultural and religious elements that differentiate Paphos from other destinations. ETAP is expected in the next period together with the rest of the Europeans partners to proceed with the implementation of a number of actions to the satisfaction of application criteria such as the digitization of the European Route, its expansion network with dozens of partners, events promoting the route in the European area as well as a more general upgrade of its website and social media route.
In closing, the Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region hopes that the Municipality of Paphos will utilize the latest generation of technological tools and create a standard technological museum space that will provide interactivity, sophisticated access for everyone in the field but also that information and bad practices will be avoided. To this day agencies still create static museums without technology.
