ETAP PAPHOS - CONTINUOUS INVESTMENTS IN ITS DIGITAL PRESENCE DESTINATION IN CYBERSPACE

TikTok account and evaluation study of the destination's digital position 

The Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region, continuing its efforts to upgrade the destination's digital presence in cyberspace, is constantly investing in new promotional technologies and tools.

Just recently the Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Pafos Region has activated an account on Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@visitpafos since the said platform/application now has more than 750 million active users worldwide on a monthly basis, while up to in 2022 the app has been scanned and installed over 3.5 billion times on various user devices. It is also expected that in the coming years it will be a powerful tool especially for targeting 19 to 49 year olds, with the predicted total users in 2025 exceeding 1 billion monthly.

Today, 64% of TikTok's global audience are users between the ages of 20 and 49, while female users make up 57% and men 43% of the platform's audience.

At the same time, ETAP Paphos within the coming weeks is expected to start preparing a study in collaboration with Neapolis Paphos University which is expected to assess the destination in its entirety regarding its digital/electronic presence and to propose specific solutions and actions.

ETAP Paphos, within and from the 2023 action plan as the European Capital of Smart Tourism, is expected to implement a number of important actions related to the four pillars of the institution of the Capital of Smart Tourism such as digitization, accessibility, sustainable development and cultural heritage and creativity
