Handcuffs to a 22-year-old man were passed by the Police in relation to a case of burglary of a betting agency and theft of property amounting to 1000 euros, between the dates 29/9/2022 until 16/1/2023 in Limassol.
The scene was visited by members of the ICF Limassol, where after inspection and processing of the closed circuit of insurance, they secured testimony.
An arrest warrant was issued against the suspect and executed on Monday afternoon.
The inspection carried out found that the 22-year-old is staying illegally on the territory of the Republic.

The ICF Limassol proceeded with the arrest of a 47-year-old man in connection with a case of burglary of a meat warehouse and theft of goods exceeding 50,000 euros committed between 2022 - 2023 in Limassol.
According to the complainant from the beginning of 2022 he observed deficits in boxes of frozen meat that were in a cold store in a warehouse he rented in Limassol.
In early 2023 the complainant placed detection devices in meat boxes in an attempt to identify the perpetrator. On 16/1/23 it was found that the specific boxes were in motion on the intercity road Limassol - Nicosia, the complainant informed the Police and gave information about the location of the boxes.
In cooperation with the complainant, the suspect vehicle was stopped by a patrol of the Traffic Police Headquarters and it was found that the vehicle was driven by the 47-year-old suspect who was a former employee of the complainant. A search of the suspect's vehicle found 10 boxes of frozen meat worth 520 euros on the hood of the vehicle, which were then identified by the complainant as his own.
The suspect was arrested on a court warrant and taken into custody. Interrogated he confessed to the theft of the meat found in his possession.
ICF Limassol continues the exams

Explosives, a firearm and burglary tools were found in the possession of a 20-year-old man in Paphos, after a chase that unfolded at dawn today.
As stated by the spokesman of the Paphos Police Department, Michalis Nikolaou, a police patrol spotted a car on Mesogis Avenue whose driver was driving in the opposite lane. At a signal that was given to him to stop, he developed speed and began to overtake dangerously, at high speed. The vehicle then came to a standstill on its own due to mechanical failure.
It was found that the driver was 20 years old. A subsequent search of his vehicle found a shotgun belonging to another person, burglary tools, a number of shotguns, and a cleaver-type knife. Furthermore, in a drug test he underwent, he tested positive. Also in his possession was found a lantern which discharges electricity.
The 20-year-old was arrested and taken into custody for the offences of unlawful possession and transport of a firearm, unlawful possession and transport of explosives, possession of burglary tools during the night, possession of an electricity evacuator, assault instrument and knife.

A 36-year-old man from the free province of Famagusta allegedly drove on the Rizoelia - Ayia Napa highway at excessive speed and was charged in writing with offenses involving concern, disturbing the peace, resisting the lawful arrest, assaulting a police officer, driving at excessive speed and refusing to give a saliva sample for a drug test.
As Steve Theodoulou, spokesman of the Famagusta Police Department, said, "around 11.30 in the morning of Monday, January 16, members of the Famagusta Traffic Police stopped for inspection on the Rizoelia - Agia Napa highway, a vehicle that was driven at a speed of 189 kilometres instead of 100".
A check carried out, he added, "found that the car was driven by a 36-year-old man from the free province of Famagusta, while in the car there were windows with limited visibility."
Mr Theodoulou said the police officer suspected the man was driving under the influence of drugs and was asked to give a saliva sample for a preliminary drug test. However, he said, "the 36-year-old refused to do so and attacked the policeman by pushing him and shouting in a way that could cause noise, agitation and disturb the peace."
According to Mr. Theodoulou, "the 36-year-old was arrested for the flagrant offenses of restlessness, disturbing the peace, resisting lawful arrest, assaulting a police officer, driving too fast and refusing to give a saliva sample for a drug test."
The man was taken to the Ayia Napa Police Station, while a search of his vehicle found in a case behind the passenger seat a plastic bottle containing pills of various colours which were seized to be sent to the Pharmaceutical Services of the state for inspection.
The 36-year-old was charged in writing and released to be summoned before a court at a later time.
The case is being examined by the Ayia Napa Police Station.
