Changes in contribution II of medicines covered by the GHS occur in view of the update of the prices of medicines authorised in Cyprus annually by the Ministry of Health, according to the Health Insurance Organisation.
The HIO shall inform of the following:
- The effective date of the drug price update is 1 February 2023.
- On the GHS website, in the Section "Providers/ Medicines-Pharmacies-Consumables/ Drug Catalogues-Protocols-Applications-Forms/ Outpatient Medicines https://www.gesy.org.cy/sites/Sites?d=Desktop&locale=el_GR&lookuphost=/el-gr/&lookuppage=hiopharmacatalogues2020, the List of Pharmaceutical Products has been posted with the revised Contributions II and the change (increase/decrease) in the Contribution II of the medicines compared to the previous date CPP 10/01/2023.
- Based on the changes in prices, Contribution II is differentiated in 283 products. For 105 products Contribution II decreases, while for 178 products it increases.
The Organization urges beneficiaries to consult their doctors and pharmacists in relation to the cheapest available medicine and how they can obtain medicines with zero Contribution II.
