POLICE OPERATIONS FOR TRAFFICKING IN PEOPLE

Thirty-nine people, including a potential victim of trafficking in sexual exploitation, were identified following checks on seven premises during joint European operations, with the participation of the Office for Combating Trafficking in Persons and the Labour Inspectorate. The operations were carried out with the cooperation of the Limassol Police Department (OPE, TAE, YAM)

Also, 17 people were identified, who were reported for undeclared work and two foreign women were arrested for offences of illegal stay and illegal employment.

In addition, in the context of the participation of the Office for Combating Trafficking in Persons and the Inspection Service of the Ministry of Labour, in the joint European operations, in order to combat labor exploitation, ten premises were inspected and 36 people were identified.

Five people were arrested from the relevant checks for offences of illegal residence and illegal work. These operations took place between the dates 14-21/09/2022.
