The huge telecommunications tower that dominates the CYTA mansion in the centre of Pafos, but also in the wider area, is now "disappearing" from there, in order to implement a constant and intense in recent years demand of society and the municipal authority.
The huge iron construction has been removed since yesterday with the use of cranes and other special machinery, in order to be set up and reopened to meet the telecommunications needs of the organization in other parts of the building, where it will not be visible and will not create the unsightly image in the natural beauty of the historic city centre.
The relocation of the tower was done with the agreement of CYTA and after the intensified efforts of the Municipality of Paphos and organized ensembles. In addition to its aesthetics, citizens and institutions expressed concerns about issues affecting public health from the electronic broadcasts of the huge tower, although officials categorically rejected any such possibility.
However, the realization that its necessary operation can be done from places where it will not be so conspicuously visible, has now made the movement of the telecommunications tower a reality.
