4,011 NEW CASES, 11 DEATHS to w/e 1 December

Eleven deaths from coronavirus were announced by the Ministry of Health, of which nine were recorded in the last week in Cyprus. At the same time, in the week of November 25 – December 1, 4,011 new cases were detected with the positivity rate amounting to 5.52%.

11 deaths announced

They concern:

  • Woman, aged 79, who passed away on 17/09/2021
  • Woman, aged 76, who passed away on 27/09/2021
  • Man, aged 86, who passed away on 24/11/2022
  • Man, aged 89, who passed away on 24/11/2022
  • Man, aged 46, who passed away on 27/11/2022
  • Woman, aged 97, who passed away on 28/11/2022
  • Woman, aged 63, who passed away on 29/11/2022
  • Woman, aged 94, who passed away on 29/11/2022
  • Woman, aged 79, who passed away on 29/11/2022
  • Man, aged 72, who passed away on 30/11/2022
  • Man, aged 81, who passed away on 01/12/2022
  • Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,237.
  • 93 COVID-19 patients are being treated in shsypy hospitals
  • 10 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/2 intubated, MAF: 8)

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 72,668 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 4,011 new cases were detected (total cases 618,248).
  • Positivity rate in all tests 5,52%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 1,963 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 183 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 9.32%

Total number of rapid antigen tests:

  • 70,705 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 3,828 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 5.41%

Private initiative:

  • 1,548 molecular tests were performed,111 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.17%)
  • 43,707 rapid antigen tests were performed,3,489 positive cases were identified (positivity rate7.98%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 26,998 rapid antigen tests were performed. 339 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points:14,012 rapid tests identified 172 positive cases (positivity rate1.23%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 1.217 rapid antigen tests,positive cases detected (positivity rate 0.41%)
  • Secondary Education:2.721 rapid detection tests identified 14 positive cases (positivity rate 0.51%)
  • Special Schools:344 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.58%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 5,567 rapid antigen tests were performed,134 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.41%)
  • Closed facilities:3,137 rapid antigen tests were performed,12 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.38%).
