2,947 NEW CASES AND FIVE DEATHS to w/e 22 December

Five deaths from Covid-19 were announced by the Ministry of Health as part of the epidemiological surveillance. 2,947 new cases were also detected in the last week.

Please find attached the announcement of the Ministry of Health for new cases of COVID-19 for the week of 16 - 22 December 2022.

  • 5 deaths announced
  • They concern:
  • Man, aged 61, who passed away on 13/10/2021
  • Woman, aged 91, who passed away on 14/12/2022
  • Woman, aged 95, who passed away on 19/12/2022
  • Man, aged 91, who passed away on 19/12/2022
  • Man, aged 88, who passed away on 20/12/2022
  • Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,255.
  • 73 COVID-19 patients are being treated in shsypy hospitals
  • 11 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/3 intubated, MAF: 8)
  • patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 67,962 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,947 new cases were detected (total cases 628,509).
  • Positivity rate in all tests 4,34%
