 Filenews 9 December 2022

More than 5,000 citizens have installed the FixCyprus application on their devices and to date 1,843 reports have been made, according to an announcement transmitted by the PIO.

The FixCyprus application is a successful example of cooperation between citizens and public services, with the aim of improving the infrastructure of the road network and enhancing road safety.

According to the announcement, in hundreds of cases the competent authorities repaired damage to sidewalks, traffic signs and pavements.

With the FixCyprus application, the citizen contributes to informing the Department of Public Works about problems in the road network (such as damage and wear), which are handled accordingly for repair and resolution by state services, local administrations, but also by services such as the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Water and Sewerage Councils and telecommunications providers.

Soon, the functions of the application will be upgraded, so that there is the possibility of feedback through information to the citizens who register problematic points of the road network, regarding the stage of solving the problem they registered and the competent Department or Service that undertook its restoration.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works thanks those who used the application and urges everyone to use it, as a tool for direct and modern communication with the competent Services, on an issue that interests everyone and has as its main goal the improvement of road safety.

In a statement by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Yannis Karousos, he called on citizens "to continue to use this application to help us and local authorities identify problems and fix them".
