SKELETON FOUND AT LIMASSOL GENERAL HELIPAD IDENTIFIED

Filenews 1 November 2022 - by Ioanna Mantzipa

A man aged about 40 years belongs to the human skeleton, which was found on Thursday morning (13/10), in a fenced area of the heliport at the Limassol General Hospital, putting the ICF and the Limassol Police Department on alert. This is a foreigner, who was allegedly homeless and had various health problems.

Despite the fact that the first estimates of the experts referred to the death of a long period of time due to the skeletal situation, however, this does not seem to be established as the information of "F" states that the last time the authorities had contacted the deceased, was in July 2022.

Authoritative information from "F" states that the human skeleton was connected and identified through fingerprints. The investigators of the ICF Limassol extracted an imprint from the right palm of the human skeleton, where it was initially found that it was the body of a man. Subsequently, according to the same information, samples were sent to the Europol database where the fingerprint of a foreign person in that database was identified and linked.

From the examinations carried out, a criminal act has been ruled out in the first place, while this person was never declared on the list of missing persons. As far as the situation that was identified is concerned, this is due to the fact of the place where he died and the circumstances that existed.

The unfortunate man had engaged the Limassol Police Department with various begging cases, for the last time, in July 2022. His details will be made public when his relatives are informed.

It is recalled that the macabre find was located around 09:30 on Thursday morning (13/10) by a worker who, together with a colleague, was carrying out gardening work within the helipad area of the Limassol General Hospital. The human skeleton was found to be partially covered by dry grass near a tree, while in the lower part of the body, pieces of clothing could be seen.
