The contracts for the execution of two projects in Paphos were signed today. Specifically, the agreement between the Municipality of Paphos and the company A.N. Ioannou Construction Ltd was signed, the contract for the project "Construction of the Western Coastal Sidewalk extending from Paphos Harbor to the Paphos – Chlorakas boundaries", worth €7,654,320.90 including VAT, was signed, which includes the completion of the network of pedestrian streets surrounding the Municipality of Paphos, the protection and promotion of areas exceptional in terms of natural environment, since part of the project will be constructed within the Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and Special Protection Area (SPA) of the Natura – 2000 – Kato Paphos Lighthouse, the protection and promotion of cultural elements that are part of the study area such as the Medieval Castle, the Paphos Archaeological Park and the Archaeological Site Tombs of the Kings, while at the same time it contributes to the improvement of the condition of the existing pedestrian street that starts at the Square of the Medieval Castle and reaches up to Faros beach which is already used by a significant number of tourists / visitors.
At the same time between the Municipality of Paphos and the contractor D. Kouppis & Sons Construction Co Ltd for the project "Upgrading of urban equipment and infrastructure in the area surrounding the wider port basin at Pafos Harbour", a project with a total value of €11,747,710.10 including VAT. the maintenance of the "Fishermen's Cafe", the maintenance and restoration of shade facades, the planting and landscaping in the area.
The above projects are co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund 2014-2020 and the Municipality of Paphos.
