The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry informs the public that the implementation of the "Save – Upgrade in Residences" Grant Scheme continues with the 2nd announcement, which will be funded with an additional budget of €35 million.
The Scheme is included in the "Th.Al.E.I.A" Program 2021-2027, is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund of the EU and the Republic of Cyprus and aims at the extensive energy upgrade of existing residences by natural persons, who are the beneficiaries of the Scheme.
The detailed Implementation Guide of the 2nd call, which will include all the relevant provisions and requirements of the Plan, as well as the starting date for the submission of applications, are scheduled to be published on the Ministry's website before the end of this year.
A prerequisite for submitting an application under the 2nd Notice will be the issuance of an initial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of the existing residence, after the date of this announcement. The initials EPC are issued by Qualified Experts, who must keep in their archive detailed photographic material and any additional data they deem necessary, which prove the initial condition of each house. The register of Qualified Experts is available at https://epc.meci.gov.cy/QE.html.
Interested applicants may start the energy upgrade works of their home immediately after the issuance of the initial EPC of each house, but it is not allowed to complete all works before the date of submission of each application.
It is noted that the implementation of investments before the publication of the detailed Implementation Guide and / or before the evaluation and approval of any application will be done under the sole responsibility of the applicants. The Ministry is not bound in any way to approve applications that will not comply with the relevant criteria and conditions for participation of the 2nd Notice.
More information will be available after the publication of the detailed implementation guide of the Plan.
