The Minister of Health spoke of an increase in cases and hospitalizations, in his statements after the end of the meeting he had at the Ministry of Health with the members of the Advisory Scientific Committee. As he said, scientists were given the opportunity to be informed with more data from the Ministry of Health regarding hospitalizations and the number of cases.
Mr. Hatzipantela noted that the following were agreed between the Ministry and the Scientific Committee:
1. Promotion of coronavirus vaccination to the over-60s and especially to people who are in closed structures and nursing homes.
2. Commencement of the vaccination programme in mountain communities.
He also added that a factsheet is expected to be sent to personal doctors regarding antiviral drugs, which are not administered to patients in time, while instructions will be given to patients over 60 and vulnerable patients to be vaccinated with a 4th dose, to avoid more hospitalizations.
