The Digital Security Authority, the Cyprus Police (Cybercrime Sub-Directorate) and the Association of Cyprus Banks are reuniting forces, know-how and experiences in a joint information campaign, with the aim of creating a shield against those who use electronic methods to deceive citizens or organizations.
The campaign called ASPIS II (INFORMATION SECURITY and INFORMATION SECURITY), aims to inform citizens about the usual practices of fraudsters in order to gain access to their personal data and bank accounts or to involve them in fake procedures in order to extort money.
The information is addressed to all citizens and especially to those groups, which are more frequent and easier targets.
The campaign will consist of four TV films and four radio ones.
The Commissioner for Communications Mr. George Michaelides, the Chief of Police of Cyprus Mr. Stylianos Papatheodorou and the General Manager of the Association of Cyprus Banks Mr. Michalis Kammas will present a press conference at the Hilton Hotel, Nicosia, Dionysos Hall, 25 November at 11 a.m.
Electronic transactions and electronic communication are an integral part of the daily life of the majority of citizens and their protection against those who encroach on the security of electronic transactions and communications is of great importance.
All together, we can protect our transactions, our private communication, our personal data and our property.
Criminals are looking for victims, don't be the next one.
