WEEKLY COVID STATS - AS AT 22 SEPTEMBER, 29 SEPTEMBER & 6 OCTOBER

WEEK TO 6 OCTOBER -2,789 NEW CASES, 5 DEATHS

Five deaths due to coronavirus were announced by the Ministry of Health, while a total of 2,789 new cases of the virus were detected within a week.

Specifically, for the week of September 30 - October 6, 2022:

  • 5 deaths announced

They concern:

  • Man, aged 80, who passed away on 01/10/2022
  • Man, aged 90, who passed away on 01/10/2022
  • Man, aged 85, who passed away on 03/10/2022
  • Woman, aged 95, who passed away on 05/10/2022
  • Woman, aged 82, who passed away on 05/10/2022
  • Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,187.
  • 44 COVID-19 patients are being treated in SHSO hospitals
  • in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/2 intubated, MAF: 2)
  • patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 68,015 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,789 new cases were detected (total cases 590,783).
  • Positivity rate in all tests 4.1%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 2,229 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 158 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 7.09%

Total number of Rapid Antigen Tests:

  • 65,786 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 2,631 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 4%

Private initiative:

  • 1,839 molecular tests were performed, 120 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.53%)
  • 43,220 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,498 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.78%)
  • Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 22,566 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 133 positive cases were identified.
  • Sampling points: 10,420 rapid detection tests identified 87 positive cases (positivity rate 0.83%)

Education

  • Primary Education: 1,713 rapid antigen tests, positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.35%)
  • Secondary Education: 2,596 rapid detection tests identified 10 positive cases (positivity rate 0.39%)

Other

  • National Guard: 27 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.41%)
  • Nursing homes: 4,550 rapid antigen tests were performed, 13 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.29%)
  • Closed facilities: 3,260 rapid antigen tests were performed, 15 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.46%).


WEEK TO 29 SEPTEMBER - 2,681 NEW CASES, 2 DEATHS

The epidemiological data for Covid -19 for the last week were released by the Ministry of Health.

2 deaths announced

They concern:

• Man, aged 63, who passed away on September 21

• Man, aged 79, who passed away on September 23

• Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,182.

• 47 COVID-19 patients are being treated in SHSO hospitals

• 2 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/1 intubated, MAF: 1)

• 1 patient who ceased to be infectious continues to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

• A total of 67,682 diagnostic tests were performed

• 2,681 new cases were detected (total cases 587,994).

• Positivity rate in all tests 3.96%


WEEK TO 22 SEPTEMBER - 2,932 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS

Two coronavirus patients have died in the last week in Cyprus. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Health, 2,932 new cases were identified with the positivity rate amounting to 4.4%.

2 deaths announced

They concern:

  • Woman, aged 76, who passed away on September 16
  • Man, aged 70, who passed away on September 19
  • Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,180.
  • 51 COVID-19 patients are being treated in SHSO hospitals
  • in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/0 intubated, MAF: 1)
  • patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 66,616 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 2,932 new cases were detected (total cases 585,313).
  • Positivity rate in all tests 4.4%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 2,489 molecular tests were performed
  • 175 positive cases were reported
  • Positivity rate 7.03%

Total number of Rapid Antigen Tests:

  • 64,127 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 2,757 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 4.3%

 Tracking:

  • molecular tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)

Private initiative:

  • 2,125 molecular tests were performed, 128 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.02%)
  • 46,111 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,638 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.72%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 18,016 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 119 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 9,979 rapid detection tests identified 89 positive cases (positivity rate 0.89%)

Other

  • National Guard: 111 rapid antigen tests were performed, positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.6%)
  • Nursing homes: 4,834 rapid antigen tests were performed, 21 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.43%)
  • Closed facilities: 3,092 rapid antigen tests were performed, new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.16%).
