The time has come for the official opening of the church of St. Ephraim in Tala, which has been erected near the Monastery of St. Neophytos. The inauguration ceremony will take place this afternoon and is expected to attract many believers from all over Cyprus, given that in the last two years or so during the construction works the site had already been converted into a worship centre. The completion of the new ecclesiastical site is now a fact, with the church having taken its final form, which is imposing and visible now from a large part of the low west Pafos.
More and more believers during this time, going to the Monastery of Agios Neophytos, made a stop at the site of the construction of the church of St. Ephraim, a few metres before, in order to pray, leave flowers or icons of the saint and light a candle in the small worship space that has been created by the faithful at the site of the construction of the canonical temple.
The church of Agios Ephraim is erected on a plot granted by the Monastery of Agios Neophytos and which is located very close to the monastery, on the main road from Tremithousa and Tala to the Monastery of Agios Neophytos.
The Abbot and the brotherhood of the Holy Monastery of Agios Neophytos, announced that the Inauguration of the Holy Church of St. Ephraim will be celebrated at 5.00pm.
After the consecration and the established service, vespers will follow during which the Abbot of the Monastery of Agios Neophytos, Bishop Leontios of Chytron, will officiate.
