OUTSTANDING PROJECTS UPDATE
1 Roundabout 'facelift' - revised technical details are expected within the next few weeks and it is then hoped that work can start on the delayed works.
2 Water tank - the new tank above Tala Amphitheatre has been completed. The Water Board need now to integrate the new tank into the water system so that it can become operational.
3 Junction onto the main road by the school. After lengthy and prolonged discussions on this topic, the Department of Transport have decided that the best option will be to extend the pavement coming down the hill on the school side of the road, so that those emerging at the junction will have a clearer view of approaching traffic. A roundabout or traffic lights at this junction were both dismissed by the Department of Transport in view of the potential speed of motorists coming down the hill approaching the junction.
The project is controlled in its entirety by the Department of Transport so no timescales can yet be given.
