On the Limassol-Paphos highway, in the section from Erimi to Petra tou Romiou, until 26/11/2022, between the hours of 08:00 - 15:00, plantation watering works will be carried out within the central island, as well as on the slopes of the road , by the Forest Department. While the works are being carried out, the right traffic lane heading from Limassol to Paphos will be partially closed for a length of 1000m. and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, in the period 9/5/2022 – 31/10/2022, excluding weekends, work will be carried out to install emergency doors on the central island of the highway from Alhambra to Germasogeia at twenty (20) points. During the works, the right traffic lanes to Limassol and to Nicosia will be closed in sections of 100m. approximately at each point and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lanes.
On the Nicosia-Larnaka highway, in the period 26/9/2022 – 6/10/2022 (except Friday, Saturday, Sunday) from 20:00 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning of the following day, maintenance work will be carried out asphalt pavement in sections from the Lymion exit to the Agia Varvara exit, in the direction from Larnaca to Nicosia. During the works, sections of the Motorway heading towards Nicosia will be closed and vehicle traffic will be diverted to the opposite traffic, turning it into a two-way traffic. On the highways of the province of Larnaca, in the period 03/10/2022 – 21/10/2022, daily, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:30, watering works of the plants of the central islands will be carried out by the Department of Forestry: a) on the Larnaca – Nicosia highway, from the Rizoelia roundabout to Nicosia b) on the Larnaca – Ayia Napa highway, from the Rizoelia roundabout to the airport roundabout and c) on the Larnaca – Kofinou highway, from the Kalos Chorio roundabout to Kofinou. During the works, the tangential traffic lane of the central island will be partially closed, for a length of 1500m. approximately, each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. At the junction of Pyla and Athienou - Aradippou and on the usual roads as well as on all the highways of the Larnaca District, in the period 3/10/2022 - 7/10//2022, daily between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 15:00 pm,, safety parapet maintenance work will be carried out. During the works the following traffic arrangements will apply: (a) On the highways, the left traffic lane will be partially closed for a length of 200m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. (b) On normal roads, one traffic lane will be closed for a length of 60m. approximately and traffic will be transferred to the adjacent lane using STOP & GO signage. On the Larnaca-Agia Napa and Larnaca-Kofinou highways, in the period 15/9/2022 – 21/10/2022, between the hours of 08:30 – 16:00 every day except weekends, pruning and watering operations will be carried out by the Department of Forestry, as follows: (a) On the Larnaca - Ayia Napa highway from the Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout in both directions, pruning and watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the road and in the inner triangles of the junction, and (b) On the Larnaca - Kofinou highway, pruning works will be carried out on the slopes of the road from both directions. During the above period, one traffic lane will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane. On the Larnaca-Kofinou highway, in the period 23/9/2022 – 14/10/2022, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., every day except weekends and holidays, works will be carried out on the shoulder of the road . During the works, the left lane of the highway will be partially closed for a distance of 500m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the right lane using appropriate signage. On the Larnaca-Agia Napa highway, by the Ormidia exit (alternating from both directions), on Monday, October 10, 2022 and Tuesday, October 11, 2022, between the hours of 08:30 - 17:00, maintenance work will be carried out street lighting from the Electromechanical Service. During the works, one lane will be partially closed for approximately 200 meters and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the Limassol-Paphos highway, section after the Erimi exit, 450m long. approximately, as well as part of the exit from the highway to Kolossi/ Erimi, 200m long, in the direction of Limassol, will operate without a ramp, due to works for the construction of the new road network in the area of Neos Gipedos directly. The works will be carried out in the period 30/8/2022 – 07/12/2022, on weekdays and Saturdays, between the hours 07:00 – 15:00. On the Paphos-Limassol highway, in sections from the Konia roundabout to Pissouri, in the period 15/9/2022 – 12/10/2022, between the hours of 09:00 – 13:00, pruning work will be carried out in the central islet from the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane will be partially closed in both directions and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. Also on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, from Monday 3/10/2022 until Thursday 6/10/2022, from 18:00 in the evening until 6:00 in the morning of the following day, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island of the highway, in the Alhambra area. During the works, the right traffic lanes to Limassol and to Nicosia will be closed in sections of approximately 2000 meters and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent left lanes. On the Limassol-Nicosia highway, on the central island, in the Skarinos – Muttayakas section, on the central island, in the Skarinos – Muttayakas section, on Saturday 8/10/2022, between the hours of 06:00 – 16:00, , cutting works will be carried out grass and waste collection by a private company. During the works, the right traffic lane of the road heading towards Limassol will be partially closed for a length of 500m. approximately with the mobile site system and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. On the Nicosia-Limassol highway, as of September 03, 2022, as part of the construction of the Nicosia Phase AI perimeter highway, the traffic of the highway, which was conducted in 4 traffic lanes on the east side, was shifted to the west side of the existing highway. The traffic of the existing highway from Limassol to Nicosia and vice versa will be carried out in 2 traffic lanes instead of 3 in a length of 2 km. approximately on the west side of the existing highway. The traffic from the exit of the industrial area of Idalio to the Tseri bypass will be uninterrupted, while the traffic from the Tseri bypass to Nicosia via the highway will not be conducted. Traffic from the Tseri bypass to Nicosia will be conducted via the old Nicosia - Limassol road from the JCC light-controlled junction. Traffic from the highway heading towards Limassol to the Idali industrial area will be conducted through the new exit constructed as part of the Perimeter Project, while traffic from the Idali industrial area to the existing highway heading towards Limassol will be uninterrupted. During the works, traffic on the highway from Nicosia to Limassol and vice versa will be conducted in one lane. The traffic from the Tseri bypass to the existing highway in the direction of Nicosia and from the industrial area of Idali to the existing highway in the direction of Limassol will not be carried out at the specified times. It is noted that traffic from the Tseri bypass to Nicosia will be conducted via the old Nicosia - Limassol road from the light-controlled junction near the JCC. The traffic from the industrial area of Idali to the existing highway in the direction of Limassol will be conducted from the entrance of Kotsiatis. It is noted that the above arrangement will last for a period of approximately 5 months. The public can be informed about the above planned works, through the website www.traffic4cyprus.org.cy, which provides a cartographic representation of the works and their effects on traffic during their execution. In Strovolos, Nicosia, from Monday 3/10/2022 until Thursday 6/10/2022, from 20:00 in the evening until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, road surface repair works will be carried out: – on Pythonos Street in Strovolos from the junction with Strovolos Avenue to the junction with Tseriou Avenue, – on Strovolou Avenue from the junction with Athalassas Avenue to the junction with Perikleous Street, and – on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue from the roundabout that connects Spyros Kyprianou and Tseriou avenues to the Metro roundabout. During the works, sections of the affected roads will be closed for approximately 1000 meters and traffic will be diverted through adjacent lanes. In Tseri, Nicosia province, from September 1, 2022, works will be carried out on the Road within Tseri, which will last 78 weeks and is expected to be completed by February 28, 2024. Works will be carried out within the Municipality of Tseri to upgrade the main road where it passes through the Municipality. More specifically, the works will include the construction of a two-lane road (with additional clockwise lanes at the traffic lights) within the Municipality of Tseri for a length of approximately 2.5 kilometres. It also includes the construction of sections of bypass roads (K. Misiaulis, Salaminas, T. Anthia, S. Papalazarou, etc.), in a total area of approximately 600 meters, which contribute to the main road. In the project, a small roundabout will be built connecting Strovolos and Agios Georgios streets at its northern end. Along the road, parking spaces will be created on both sides to serve the commercial areas of the Municipality as well as the two Primary Schools. The project also includes the construction of sidewalks, the installation of traffic lights, the undergrounding of all utilities, horizontal and vertical signage, the installation of new street lighting and other related works. Depending on each phase of the works, the relevant announcements will be issued that will describe the works to be performed as well as the corresponding traffic regulations. Also in Tseri, on Analyonda Street, in the section from its junction with Poseidonos Street to its junction with Tevkrou Anthia Street, from Friday 9/9/2022 and for a period of 4 months, renovation works will be carried out, in framework of the implementation of the 1st phase of the "Road within Tseriou" project. During this phase, all traffic lanes will be closed in the aforementioned section. Drivers heading towards Nicosia are urged to use Poseidonos, Andrea Kesta, Archiepiskou Makariou III and Leontiou A' streets, which will be reversed to one-way traffic from Archiepiskou Makariou III to Pieridis Street. Drivers heading towards Analyondas are urged to use Tevkrou Anthia, Makrygianni, Tripolitsas, Papalazarou, Achilleos and Omirou streets, following the temporary markings. In the province of Larnaca, in Ormidia, in a section of Wattena Avenue, in the period 3/10/2022 – 14/10/2022, between the hours of 08:00 – 16:00, every day except weekends, network construction works will be carried out, from Cyprus Electricity Authority (ECA). During the works, a section of the road will be closed for approximately 50 meters in both directions (alternating) and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane. On the coastal road of Larnaca-Dekeleia, in Larnaca, from the roundabout of the Marine Club and at a length of 800m. approximately, as part of the construction works of the Project "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dekelia Coastal Road Phase C", from 04/10/2022 and for a period of approximately five months, works will be carried out next to the road boundaries and drivers are urged to be careful. In Meneu, in the province of Larnaca, in the period 7/9/2022 – 14/10/2022, between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00, every day except weekends, construction work will be carried out on the slope of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, from junction of Eleftheria Avenue towards Dromolaxia - Meneou and for a length of 200m. about. During the works, one traffic lane of Archbishop Makarios Avenue III will be closed and traffic will be diverted to side streets using appropriate signage. In the district of Nicosia, specifically in Deutera, on Griva Digeni Avenue, Anthoupoli – Palechorio road, from Friday, May 27, 2022 and for a period of five (5) months, construction work will be carried out on a roundabout at its junction with Agia Marina Street. During the works, traffic from Anthoupoli to Palaichori and vice versa will be diverted through a temporary bypass road of approximately 300m length. The junction of Griva Digeni Avenue with Agia Marina Street will be closed and drivers from Palaichori to Deutera are urged to use the previous exit towards Anagyia – Pano Deutera. In Germasogeia, construction work on the Germasogeia bypass road continues as normal. From Sunday, August 7, 2022, the construction work of the next phase of the Project will be carried out, which will last 6 months and includes, among other things, the reconstruction/upgrading of a 400m long section of the road on Agia Paraskevi Street. up to the southern part of the Germasogeia roundabout, the reconstruction of Mylou Street and the construction of a roundabout at the junction of the new Mikis Theodorakis Avenue with Agia Paraskevi and Milos Streets. During the construction work of this phase the following traffic arrangements will apply: (a) The junction of Agia Paraskevi and Mylos Streets will be closed and the section of Agia Paraskevi Street south of Tellyrias Street will temporarily operate as a cul-de-sac. Traffic from/to Germasogeia and from/to Limassol will take place via the new bypass road and the of its connections with Agia Paraskevi street from Isabella, Patron and Tellyria streets. The access of Agia Paraskevi street towards Limassol is expected to be handed over to traffic around the end of October 2022. (b) Mylou Street will be closed and its eastern section, from its junction with Potamias Street, will temporarily function as a dead-end street to serve merchants and residents. (c) Traffic from/to Muttayaka will be able to be done via Potamias Street (east) or via the new bypass road and Agios Georgios Street. Also in Germasogeia, on Patron Street, also in the context of the works of the Limassol-Amathus Sewerage Board, for the construction of the Great Flood Control Project of Greater Limassol, from Monday September 12th to Monday October 3rd, 2022, work will be carried out. During the work, Patron Street, from its junction with Megalou Theodosiou Street to Armonias Street, will be closed to all vehicles and traffic to and from Agios Athanasios will be diverted through other streets. In Limassol, at the junction of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue and Nikou Pattichis Street, from Friday 7/10/22 until Saturday 15/10/22 road works will be carried out by SALA as part of the Great Flood Protection Project of Greater Limassol. During the works, the northbound lanes of the section of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, from its junction with Nikos Pattichis Street to its junction with Vasileos Konstantinou Street, will remain closed and traffic will only be allowed in the southbound lanes heading from east to west. Traffic on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue from west to east will be diverted through Nikos Pattichis Street to other streets. On Feyzit Pasha Street, in the Municipality of Limassol, as part of the Great Flood Protection Project of the Centre of Limassol, from Wednesday 31 August, works will be carried out by the Sewerage Council of Limassol - Amathus. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday, October 27. During the works the road will be closed and the public is asked to comply with the temporary road markings to divert traffic. On Walter Disney Street, in Limassol, from Wednesday September 14, 2022 until Saturday October 8, 2022, works will be carried out by the Limassol-Amathoustos Sewerage Board, as part of the Greater Limassol Anti-Flood Project. In Paphos, in the Geroskipou area, from Tuesday, April 5, 2022, until Monday, March 6, 2023, the connecting road B6 - A6 (Limessos - Paphos), will be closed to traffic, due to roundabout construction works on Kinyra Street in Geroskipou. During the works drivers and pedestrians will be able to use a temporary detour that has been constructed for this purpose. On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the period 29/9/2022 – 7/10/2022, every day except weekends, between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00, water pipeline installation works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the works, on a section of the road, just before the exit to the Satellite Station, heading towards Limassol, one direction lane will be closed for a length of approximately 50 meters and traffic will be handled using traffic light markings. On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, in the period 29/8/2022 – 5/12/2022, from 07:00 a.m. until 15:00, every day except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, construction work will be carried out on the slope of the road in the Kofinou area and for a length of approximately 1500m. During the works, one traffic lane of the old Nicosia - Limassol road will be partially closed for a length of 100m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane, using STOP & GO signage. On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, the eastern road that connects the road to the port of Vassilikos will be closed to traffic during the period 23/4/2022 – 23/10/2022, as part of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Road Network of the Vassilikos Energy Center. During the works, all traffic to and from Vasiliko will be diverted to the corresponding west road, through the Community of Mari. The movement of vehicles and pedestrians, on adjacent roads and residences will be done according to the corresponding local arrangements.
