The Ministry of Health informs citizens that the program of vaccination centres for the vaccination of the public against COVID-19 is as follows for the updated / adapted Moderna and Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines:
The *Moderna (B A.1) vaccine is available every Tuesday and Thursday.
The **Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine (BA.4 and BA.5) is available daily from Monday to Friday.
Beneficiaries will be able to be served through the walk-in vaccination centres operating in all provinces.
Vaccination centres:
Nicosia: State Fair (8am – 2:30pm)
Larnaca: Larnaca Old Hospital (8am – 2:30pm)
Limassol: Linopetra Health Centre (8am – 2:30pm)
Paphos: Paphos General Hospital (8am – 2:30pm)
Famagusta: Famagusta Health Centre (8am – 2:30pm)
Kyperounta: Kyperounta Vaccination Centre (former SPE) Monday, Wednesday and Friday (9:30am – 1:30pm)
Polis Chrysochous: Polis Chrysochous Hospital, every Tuesday (9:30am – 1:30pm)
*The Moderna vaccine covers both the original strain of the virus and the BA.1 subvariate of the Omicron variant.
**The Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine covers both the original strain of the virus and the BA.4 and BA.5 subvariate of the Omicron variant.
Within the day, a decision is expected from the competent authorities for the administration of a booster / 5th dose of the vaccine against COVID-19, said the Deputy Director of Nursing Services Evagoras Tambouris. A relevant announcement will be issued later today by the Ministry of Health.
According to Mr. Tambouris, the administration of the 5th dose will begin within this week. It will be given to people aged 30 and over, to people of all ages who live or work in nursing homes and closed facilities, to health professionals regardless of age and to other vulnerable groups.
In the meantime, so far since September 20, when the administration of a booster / 4th dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 began, 3,846 people have been vaccinated, Mr. Tambouris said.
He said that the turnout of people has been on the rise in recent days for the 3rd and 4th tranches and expressed optimism that it will intensify in the coming months.
In order for the 4th dose of vaccine to be administered, the period of five (5) months must have elapsed since the receipt of the booster 3rd dose.
According to the Ministry of Health, receiving the booster 4th dose of vaccine is optional.
In order to carry out vaccination, an identification document (identity card, passport) and a vaccination card must be presented.
