A bill for the licensing and operation of public and private swimming pools is expected to be submitted to the Parliament in the coming months by the Ministry of Interior, as mentioned in today's meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Interior, on the occasion of the discussion of a relevant issue written by the Member of Parliament of EDEK, Elias Myrianthous.
The issue raised for discussion concerns the timing of the examination of applications for the issuance of permits, as well as the operating conditions for swimming pools, which, as mentioned, is of great concern to the tourism businesses that host such spaces in their facilities.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior at the meeting of the Commission, said that after a long delay, a new text of law was completed in early August.
As he said, the public consultation has already started, which will be completed in the coming days.
The aim is to renew the existing law of 1992, which he said is problematic. It was clarified that some are the regulations concerning the construction and others the licensing of the operation of swimming pools.
