Two coronavirus patients died in the last week in Cyprus. At the same time, 2,755 new cases were announced with the positivity rate rising to 4.17%.
- 2 deaths announced
- They concern:
- Man, aged 78, who passed away on 14/10/2022
- Man, aged 73, who passed away on 20/10/2022
- Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,191.
- 42 COVID-19 patients are being treated in hospitals
- 9 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/3 intubated, MAF: 6)
- 3 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
Diagnostic tests:
- A total of 66,040 diagnostic tests were performed
- 2,755 new cases were detected (total cases 596,297).
- Positivity rate in all tests 4.17%
Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 2,236 molecular tests were performed
- There were 162 positive cases
- Positivity rate 7.25%
Total number of rapid antigen tests:
- 63,804 rapid antigen tests were performed
- There were 2,593 positive cases
- Positivity rate 4.06%
Private initiative:
- 1,835 molecular tests were performed, 112 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.1%)
- 42,131 rapid antigen tests were performed, 2,462 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 5.84%)
Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 21,673 rapid antigen tests were performed. 131 positive cases were identified.
- Sampling points: 10,366 rapid tests identified 80 positive cases (positivity rate 0.77%)
Education
- Primary Education: 467 rapid antigen tests, 1 positive case detected (positivity rate 0.21%)
- Secondary Education: 1,911 rapid tests identified 5 positive cases (positivity rate 0.26%)
- Special Schools: 275 rapid antigen tests were performed and 6 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 2.18%)
Other
- National Guard: 269 rapid antigen tests were performed and 2 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.74%)
- Nursing homes: 4,846 rapid antigen tests were performed, 18 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.37%)
Closed facilities: 3,539 rapid antigen tests were performed, 19 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.54%).
