Checks for driving personal mobility devices (electric scooters) on the road network, began today, Thursday, September 1, 2022, say the Police.
The checks concern the compliance of the drivers of such devices with the provisions of the relevant legislation, which have entered into force.
The purpose of this legislation is to regulate the movement of these devices on the road network, since their drivers are among the vulnerable groups of road users.
Among the main provisions of the Legislation that came into force, are the places where such devices can be transported, their technical characteristics, the age of the drivers and others.
The Legislation on the use of electric scooters - e-scooters, bicycles, and other personal mobility devices, entered into force on July 28, 2022. The transition period runs until March 01, 2023.
