DataArt, a global software engineering firm, this week announced the opening of a new office in Cyprus.
The company, which has received support from Invest Cyprus, the country’s investment promotion agency, is currently onboarding more than 50 employees to a new location in Nicosia.
The company has explained that it plans to create new job opportunities in the information technology sector, hiring as many as 50 such professionals from the local talent pool.
“It is a great pleasure to welcome DataArt, a proven leader in the field of technology, to Cyprus,” Chief Executive of Invest Cyprus George Campanellas said in a statement.
“ICT companies currently employ more than 10,000 people in Cyprus and this decision is further evidence of our capacity to attract internationally renowned technology companies and tech professionals,” he added.
DataArt offers a wide range of information technology services, including digitalisation solutions, legacy system modernisation, solution design, cloud application development, machine learning and artificial intelligence, blockchain services, risk management, as well as business intelligence and consulting services, among others.
In 2022, the company won 9 awards for its services, including for best leadership teams, best CEOs for diversity, best CEOs for women, best HR team, best product design, best engineering team, as well as best places to work in New York.
What is more, the company was listed in the 2022 edition of the Inc. 5000 ranking of America’s fastest-growing companies. This was the eleventh time the company was included in the list. The company’s rank represented a growth rate of 116 per cent.
The company was also included in Comparably’s fifth annual list of Best Companies for Career Growth, a list which is derived from millions of ratings from employees who anonymously rated their professional development opportunities on their website over a 12-month period.
Commenting on the decision to open a new office in Nicosia, Eugene Goland, DataArt’s CEO, said that Cyprus provides an ideal platform to strengthen the company’s European footprint and access new markets.
“New incentives for foreign companies made it easier for us to relocate our staff to the island while access to local highly skilled talent is definitely a bonus,” Goland said.
“Invest Cyprus has been an excellent partner in this process throughout, providing us with everything we needed to jump-start our business,” he added.
Furthermore, Campanellas noted that the interest from technology companies in Cyprus continues to grow, transforming the sector into a key pillar of economic growth.
“The global shortage of digital tech talent continues to impact the tech industry, so it is not surprising that fast-growing companies like DataArt that prioritize attracting new talent are looking beyond traditional pools of candidates,” Campanellas said.
