LAND REGISTRY - 15,000 CALLS TO THE SERVICE NUMBER

 Filenews 21 September 2022

About 15,000 calls were answered by the Service Officers of the Department of Lands and Surveys (TCX) in less than four months from the date of implementation of the single pancyprian telephone number 17100, said the Director of the Department Elikkos Elias, who at the same time expressed the estimate that the visits to the Cadastre Gate, within 2022, will exceed 5 million.

At the same time, he announced that the new form of the Land Registry Portal is expected to be operational in a few weeks.

Specifically, Mr. Elias stressed that the TCX has as a priority the improvement of information and service to citizens and to this end, it implemented, on June 1, 2022, the operation of the call centre.

He said that this centre has a unique pancyprian telephone number, 17100, which citizens can call within Cyprus and the number +357-22804900 for calls from abroad and added that from the date of implementation of the single pancyprian number, i.e. June 1, 2022 and until September 20, 2022, the Service Officers of the TCX responded to about 15,000 calls.

In addition, the Director of the TCCI recommends to citizens who have the opportunity, before any telephone call, to visit the Land Registry Portal at the e-mail address https://portal.dls.moi.gov.cy, where there are posted information, instructions, informative videos and forms for all types of applications / works accepted or processed by the TCX, so through them they will be able to receive a first update on the issues that interest them.

Mr. Elias expressed the estimate that the visits to the Land Registry Portal, within 2022, will exceed 5 million and stressed that the purpose of the TCCI is to serve / inform citizens online, "in a friendly and simple way and without the citizen being an expert in computers to be informed or to communicate with the TCCI".

He also mentioned that the TCX also provides the possibility to submit questions via e-mail or through the Land Registry Portal, to the e-mail address https://portal.dls.moi.gov.cy/el-gr/Pages/Contact-Us.aspx.

He added that a large number of citizens prefer to submit questions via e-mail and the TCX responds in order to respond in a timely manner to the questions submitted.

Changes to the Land Registry Portal

At the same time, Mr. Elias said that the TCX, "recognizing the importance of informing citizens in simple and understandable language and providing in a friendly way the necessary information on the website of the TCCI, the necessary changes are currently being made to the Land Registry Portal, in order to improve and facilitate the search for the information that citizens need, regarding the application process, the required documents, the fees they have to pay but also the information on the progress of the application they submitted".

Especially for the latter, the Director of the TCCI invited those property owners who have not done so to date, to proceed with the creation of an account (profile) in the "Land Registry Portal", so they will be able to refer to their personal page, in the field "my applications", to be informed at what stage their application is at.

"The Land Registry Portal is a central point of reference for all applications submitted, as well as a point of two-way communication with citizens, while minimizing the need of citizens to submit questions, both electronically and by phone, saving productive time to the staff of the Department", he concluded.
