1,752 NEW CASES, 4 DEATHS - 26 August to 1 September

Four deaths due to coronavirus were announced by the Ministry of Health for the last week while 1,752 new cases of the virus were detected.

Specifically for the week of August 26 - September 1, 2022:

4 deaths reported

They concern:

  • Man, aged 78, who passed away on 25/08/2022
  • Woman, aged 82, who passed away on 26/08/2022
  • Man, aged 87, who passed away on 26/08/2022
  • Man, aged 83, who passed away on 29/08/202
Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,172.
  • 42 COVID-19 patients are being treated in SHSO hospitals
  • 10 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator/3 intubated, MAF: 6)
  • patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized by intubation due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 68,678 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 1,752 new cases were detected (total cases 578,030).
  • Positivity rate in all tests 2.55%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 2,464 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 119 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 4.83%

Total number of Rapid Antigen Tests:

  • 66,214 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • There were 1,633 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 2.47%

 Tracking:

  • molecular tests were performed, no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)

Private initiative:

  • Molecular tests were performed in 209476 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.63%)
  • 49,928 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,580 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.16%)

Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 16,286 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 53 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 9,328 rapid detection tests, 28 positive cases identified (positivity rate 0.3%)

Other

  • National Guard: 126 rapid antigen tests were performed, positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.97%)
  • Care homes: 4,367 rapid antigen tests were performed, 4 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.09%)
  • Closed facilities: 2,465 rapid antigen tests were performed, 16 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.65%).
